The Staves’ new album, Good Woman, is their first in six years, and the title track, obviously also called ‘Good Woman’, is an exciting hint at things to come. It is pushed forward by a natural, addictive vocal and serene textures that built towards the ethereal conclusion. “We have been working on this for a long time and are thrilled to share the title track with you,” the band explains. “When we think about making this album we think about moments and snapshots of all the different contexts we were in as it was made.” The track slots into the album’s wider themes, stretching from the trio’s experiences with everything from birth to death. -Dan Peeke
